Classic Italian Lasagna

Ingredients:

  • Lasagna noodles
  • Tomato sauce
  • Ricotta cheese
  • Grated mozzarella
  • Minced meat
  • Basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper


Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. Boil the lasagna noodles in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a pan, brown the minced meat and season with salt and pepper. Add the tomato sauce and basil leaves. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with salt and pepper.
  5. To assemble, spread a layer of meat sauce in the bottom of a baking dish. Place a layer of lasagna noodles, then spread the ricotta mixture evenly. Top with another layer of noodles and cover with the remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.


Directions:

  • Repeat the layering process until all the ingredients are used, ending with mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.


Tip: Use a deep, rectangular baking dish to ensure all the layers fit snugly and cook evenly.
